Sean Wirz (*1988) is a sound designer, sound engineer and re-recording mixer for feature and commissioned films, and also works as a director and screenwriter. 2024 marks the completion of River Sound Studio in Bern, an immersive re-recording studio. Since opening, the studio has mixed multiple long and short projects from Stereo to Dolby Atmos that have gone on to enjoy strong festival runs. Sean began his career as a musician before completing an internship and later working freelance under Felix Bussmann at SDS AG in Ostermundigen, at the time Switzerland's largest audio post-production facility. There, he assisted on ADR, sound design, mixing, and mastering for feature films such as Der Goalie bin ig(C‑Films), and was responsible for the sound design of films such as Confusion (Bord Cadre Films / RecTv). Sean studied in Australia, Zurich, and New York City. He lives in Bern and dives into the cold waters of his beloved river Aare year-round.
